Three and six-hour workshops, excellent for tourists who want to create a special keepsake during their Santa Fe visit. Classes include pottery, traditional retablos, stained glass and mosaics, drawing and sketching (see website for complete class list and prices). A workshop may be scheduled for one or more participants. Group discounts apply for parties of four or more. Uncommon Threads ñ fiber art by New Mexico artists will be on display from February 21 until April 9 at the First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque, http://www.uuabq.org/arts.html (505) 884-1801. With the exception of Sundays, visitors must inquire at the church office to open the gallery. The church office is open Monday to Thursday from 9-4 and Friday, 9-12. An artists' reception, open to the public, will be held on Friday, March 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

“One on One” features five artists. Each artist closely examines the life of one person, attempting to create a mirror, not only for themselves, but also for the viewers. A number of mediums, including video, painting, drawing, and computer dialogue, will be used in this psychologically charged suite of exhibitions. Artists featured are Terry Allen, Hasan Elahi, McCallum & Tarry, and Kaari Upson.

There is a free public opening on February 5, from 5 – 7pm.
