Every month Kakawa offers a new medicinal, astrologically based elixir using tinctures such as lemon balm, ashwaghanda or damiana just to take the whole chocolate experience a step further. These monthly drinks are worth checking out as well as the new fabulous ice cream flavours, some are even dairy free, and are made with coconut milk!

The ice cream and baked goods are top notch, especially the pie with its distinctive and excellent homemade flavor.

The newest of the new flavors–and the most exotic, to my palate–bacon truffles arrived on the menu through the inspiration of a staffer. Whether they were her idea or an import from elsewhere, I don’t know. Personally, I’m more drawn to toasted almond or goat cheese chile truffles, but the fan base for bacon is vast and impassioned. If you love bacon enough to snarf it with chocolate, check these out and send me a comment.
