"To the extent that people can rally around goals and achieve real results using apolitical modern organizing efforts, we may find that the future of public life lies in individual action rather than in elected office or in nonprofit organizations." David Troy (Fueled by Randomness) finished his latest blogpost, "Public Life without Politics," with these words. Granted, it's a different topic, but dovetails vis à vis the individual's imperative to "be the change [s/he] wishes to see in the world." It would be ideal if the associations would coordinate. If they don't, and we want such interactivity to take place, we may have to do it ourselves. Keep me informed about Artscrawls and I'll post the word.

Malissa,
Wonderful blog post! Thank you for linking to the Chroma Studios website. I totally agree with you, Santa Fe and Albuquerque should be working together in the arts. The AABA (ABQ Arts Business Association) has reached out to the Santa Fe gallery assoc. about holding more collaborative Artscrawls using the Rail Runner as a bridge. I haven't heard recently what has come about with that, but I think it's high time and with the Rail Runner, it's so much easier to make it happen. I do know that part of the problem with that idea was getting the Rail Runner to run a later schedule on Artscrawl nights. Unfortunately, with this issue, we run into the money problem again. I would love to see more state interaction on this. Anyway, thanks again for the blog post! :)
