Santa Fe Art
Santa Fe and art are indelibly intertwined, like Chicago and architecture, Paris and the café. By the numbers, Santa Fe is one of the most significant art markets in the nation, ranking second in volume of sales, with more galleries per capita than New York City. It’s home to over a dozen museums and several internationally renowned art fairs, including Indian Market, Spanish Market, the International Folk Art Market and Art Santa Fe. Santa Fe’s galleries host a rich range of visual art from a multitude of styles, periods, media and cultures. It’s a collector’s destination for photography, Native American, Western, Spanish and Contemporary art. For more than a century, Santa Fe has been a cultural mecca, a place to view and create art. With a profusion of cultural offerings, arts education and art-related business, it’s easy to see how Santa Fe earned its designation as UNESCO Creative City (in Folk Art, Crafts, and Design) and top marks from Sperling’s Best Places and American Style.
